Cambridge
Primary is a program for the Cambridge Primary curriculum frameworks developed
by Cambridge Assessment International Education for Stages 1-6 and for the
Cambridge Primary English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum framework
developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment.
After finishing the schedule, students
will take part in Checkpoint Primary – which is an exam organized by Cambridge
to assess students’ competencies, knowledge and skills after having completed
the Cambridge primary program. That helps provide valuable international
assessment on a students ability before moving to the next level of studying.
This
is the third year, students enrolled in the Cambridge system of Sai Dong Urban Primary
School - school code VN183 participated in the Checkpoint Primary exam -May 2024.
There were 28 students participated in the exam in detailed:

ESL (English as Second Language): 28 students
- Maths (Maths): 22
students

Science (Science): 19 students
- GP (Global
Perspectives): 10 students
Besides
Science, Maths, and ESL which students took paper tests, this year they also
took part in a new exam – GP
(Global perspective). The main focus of this subject is on developing students critical thinking about global issues with different interpretations. In this
exam, students worked in groups, studied about topics related to life, their
products were recorded in clips, power point, pdf and posted online on the
Checkpoint section at the Online learning Area. This is a new subject that
requires students to be good at teamwork skills, especially cooperation and
communication skills, from choosing topics, materials and building project
content. The subject not only helps students develop self-controlled and
solidarity, but through that, they also practice critical thinking skills.
With maximum score - 50, those who
scored 20 or more are ranked as outstanding, high and good; those scored less
than 20 points is considered aspiring and basic.
With best efforts, students in grades 5A5 for the 2019-2024 academic time had achieved
the following results:
After completing the test, each student will receive 2 analytical reports on:
* Test scores for
the entire subject
* Test scores for
each key topic/skill
* List of questions
(and subtopics/skills) that specifically address student strengths and
weaknesses
* Notification of
academic achievements.
With this result, the students not
only self-assessed their total 5-year study process, but also affirmed
themselves through activities and skills in exams. This will be helpful for the
next levels.
