On 23rd December 2021, iSmart Education, in association with School Administrators of Sai Dong Urban Primary School and Nam Tu Liem Hanoi Primary School organized the finale of “TeamFace Challenge” contest.
The contest is part of Cambridge Program’s Project-based learning activities with the aim of celebrating the festive season (Christmas, New Year) and boosting students’ confidence in using English as a communicative tool for public speaking. Through this activity, students are expected to have sharpened their presentation skills and teamwork skills which are two out of five requisite skills for 21st-century-global citizens.
The Preliminary round took place from 5th to 15th December 2021 and received positive responses from teachers, parents, and students. Out of 42 outstanding videos, 7 best performances were selected to move on to the Final Round. They were evaluated based on two component scores: 70% score from the Judge Panel and 30% from Social Reactions on both schools’ official networking sites.
In the Final Round, the chosen teams created videos on one assigned topic. Their presentations were judged in alignment with five criteria: Expression Style, Presentation ability, Content/Conveyed Message, Uniqueness, Language Proficiency and Teamwork skills. Once again, scores given by the Judge Panel accounted for 70% of the total point, making the remaining 30% attributed to online votes by the audience on Zoom.
The prizes included cash from the Organizing Committee, accompanied by scholarships awarded by iSMART Online School. The prizes went to:
- Grade 1: Smart Heroes with consolation prize; Lovely Goats gained 3rd prize
- Grade 2: Pony Warrior came consolation prize; Smile Team was awarded with 3rd prize.
- Grade 3: Santa Group ranked 2nd prize.

Mrs. Le Thi Thu Huong – The Principal of Sai Dong Urban Primary School gave compliments on the contest, saying that it was a meaningful extracurricular activity in which students had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge, express their unique perspectives about things happening around them, and work effectively in groups. Sai Dong Urban Primary School was proud of all teams participating in the contest. The most important thing, said the Principal, was not the prizes but the efforts that the students had invested and the passion for English language they established after the contest.
